Inspired by the buzz and brilliance of our past summer events, this year promises a lively mix of fun-filled activities across both the bar and entertainment zones. 💃 Every Thursday: Free dance classes to get you moving—whether you're a seasoned pro or just there for the groove. 🎶 Weekends: Enjoy live music sessions that bring the summer soundtrack to life. ♟️ Monday Evenings: Sharpen your mind with free chess lessons—perfect for all skill levels. 🛍️ All week: Discover a selection of amazing trader stalls offering everything from handmade crafts to tasty treats. There’s no need to book—just come along, soak up the atmosphere, and be part of the summer buzz.

Sport Games

The bar area will house a foosball table. Large outdoor game favourites such as Chess and Connect Four will offer visitors an opportunity for nostalgia, combined with an exciting bar menu with equal focus on non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages..

Food

This year, our hot food offering is provided by The Cheese Toastie Company. Using locally sourced ingredients and their signature blend of cheeses, each toastie is handcrafted to deliver pure flavour with every bite. All of our offerings will include plant based alternatives and cater for smaller appetites, we provide both large and small portion sizes for each food option.

Play@The Table

The bar will be stocked with ‘Play@the table’ boxes: These consist of board games, packs of cards and activity books for younger visitors which can be borrowed to play at the tables and for seating within the bar.

Live@The Square

The live performance element of our event

We will be providing entertainment through a variety of locally based artists, performers and bands to showcase local talent, provide opportunities for local groups to perform in a family friendly setting and entertain customers, visitors and the general public in the heart of Bournemouth Square. Featuring a mixture of acoustic performers, small bands and local talent. We will also feature dedicated children’s entertainers,animatronic dinosaurs, plus much more.

The playful element of our event

🎪 Play@ – Fun for All Ages Designed with families in mind, our Play@ slots are all about rekindling the joy of play—because we believe fun has no age limit!

Enjoy engaging activities like family card games and chess instruction, alongside magical moments with our live singing princesses. Younger guests can also enjoy a children’s fairground ride, adding an extra sprinkle of excitement to the day.

Whether you’re little or just young at heart, there’s something for everyone to dive into and enjoy.

The interactive element of our event

With creative hobbies and craft workshops at an all time high in popularity. Our programme includes paint nights, led by a local artist; a fun and social night painting on canvas; Macrame workshops, hanging plant tutorials, print workshops – sampling screen printing and tile prints, clay models and more. A number of workshops will be aimed specifically at children, however the majority will be family focused and be presented to appeal to all ages. Workshops will be led by local creators, many who already have a significant presence in Bournemouth.

Dance@The Square

The get up and get moving element of our event

We have been impressed in previous years at how dance has captured the Square’s visitors! Weekly Salsa and weekly or bi weekly Bollywood, Country and Silent discos are crowd pleasers. We will engage with local providers of such classes and believe they are a great way to entertain and keep active.
